Participating in team events
As a BRC-affiliated riding club, PDRC can put forward teams to compete in competitions organised by BRC Area 1 (which covers the South of Scotland). There are typically opportunities to compete with a team in Dressage (Novice and Intermediate), Riding Test, Showjumping (from 70cm up to 1.10m), Style Jumping and Horse Trials (80cm up to 100+), so most abilities are catered for.
We like to encourage all members of the club to take part in team events if they can. Team events are great fun and have as major advantage that you have the support of your team buddies and a team coordinator, who can help you at all stages of the competition. We are happy to accept any member onto teams if they express an interest, however please bear in mind there are a few simple ‘rules’ regarding competing for a team:

- Are you and your horse are eligible for the team you wish to enter? Check the BRC Handbook and if you are unsure you can drop us an email to check.
- Is your horses flu vaccination compliant? Check the latests Flu vaccination rules and Flu vaccination checker
- Is your hat compliant with BRC guidelines? Check the latest rules for 2021: HAT STANDARDS GUIDELINES
- Are you happy to help out at a PDRC event? All team members are expected to help out at least once during the year.
- Team competitions can be anywhere in the south of Scotland, so some travel will be required.
Team events in 2023
Winter qualifiers for Showjumping will be held at Morris Equestrian Centre in Ayrshire at 4 November and winter qualifiers for Dressage will be held at SNEC at 25 November.
